Allure of the Seas Overview
The Allure of the Seas is the world's largest cruise ship, a truly enormous vessel with an impressive array of live entertainment, dining venues and accommodation options. She belongs to Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class fleet, and is almost identical to her sister ship, the Oasis of the Seas.
The Allure of the Seas specs
This large, spacious vessel weighs 225,282 tonnes, measures 1,187 feet in length and spans 16 decks. She can accommodate 6,542 guests and 2,384 crew members. Her cruise speed is 22.6 knots.
Inside the Allure of the Seas
The Allure of the Seas is spacious and open thanks to its innovative design. The layout is organised into seven distinct 'neighbourhoods', such as the tree-lined 'Central Park' (home to more than 12,000 plants) and the buzzing Royal Promenade (featuring boutique shops and a classic carousel). As every neighbourhood has its own unique ambiance, it's a real pleasure to explore each area during your time at sea - there's so much to see and do!
Allure of the Seas itineraries and shore excursions
With regular sailings to the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, there are a variety of fun shore excursions available, suitable for all interests and activity levels. Some examples include hiking up Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii, paddle boarding in Fort Lauderdale and snorkeling in Cozumel.
Guests can choose from more than 20 accommodation categories, ranging from compact 'Category Q' interiors (149 square feet) to the enormous Royal Loft Suite, which measures 1,524 square feet and has an 843 square foot balcony.
Most of the cabins are quite similar in look and feel; what sets them apart is their location. Guests can choose from interior, ocean view and balcony categories, and there are also some cabins available which overlook tree-lined Central Park or the bustling Boardwalk. All cabins are equipped with basic amenities including a flatscreen television, iPod dock with speaker, hair dryer, toiletries, small sitting area and ample storage space.
Apart from offering much more room, the suites tend to be in prime locations, offering the best views of the sea from their spacious balconies. Staying in a suite also comes with several nice extra touches, such as a complimentary cocktail hour each evening and exclusive access to the Suite Lounge and the Coastal Kitchen.

The Allure of the Seas by day
Guests can choose from standard cruise entertainment offerings, such as trivia nights, wine tastings, enrichment classes, bingo, movie screenings and more, but where the Allure of the Seas really stands apart from her competitors is in her action and adventure offerings. The ship is home to two FlowRider surf simulators, two 43-foot high rock climbing walls, an ice skating rink, a full-sized basketball court and an 82-foot long zip line that zooms above Central Park. It's activities like these that will make your stay on board the Allure of the Seas a truly unforgettable experience.
Pools, spas and fitness facilities on board the Allure of the Seas
The ship's main pool area has three pools, several jacuzzis and plenty of space to pull up a deck chair and relax under the sun. This area is family-friendly, but there is a pool inside the Solarium, an adults-only retreat, for those looking for some peace and quiet.
If it's pampering you're looking for, you'll be spoiled for choice at the Vitality Spa. Here you will find an extensive treatment menu, as well as a relaxing thermal suite. There is also a fitness centre located nearby, which is equipped with state-of-the-art cardio machines and free weights.
The Allure of the Seas by night
As the sun sets, many of the ship's public spaces transform into dazzling live entertainment venues. The Royal Promenade becomes a hub for parties and parades, while the bars, lounges and nightclubs are home to live jazz, karaoke and comedy gigs. The 1,380-seat Amber Theatre is the place to watch professional production shows, including Mamma Mia the musical. For something completely different, head to the AquaTheater; here, trained acrobats perform amazing acts in a hydraulics pool, complete with 2,000 water nozzles, rope ladders and other props.
The Allure of the Seas for families
One of the most family-friendly vessels at sea, this ship has an excellent Adventure Ocean Youth Program and a wonderful Royal Babies & Tots Nursery. Adventure Ocean opens early and children can play here all day, with some meals included. The centre remains open until late, and from 10.15pm to 2am it is transformed into a 'Late Night Party Zone' (group babysitting service).
Children will have a blast at Adventure Ocean, but there are also plenty of activities the whole family can enjoy together, such as the 3D movie theatre and the H20 Zone Kids' water park. Another particular highlight is the DreamWorks Experience, where children can meet their favourite characters from movies such as Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda.
